Malcolm Perrett, Managing Director
Malcolm joined Pineshield (formerly Carewatch) in 2009. As Vice Chairman of Care Forum Wales and ex-Chair of the Cardiff and Vale Domiciliary Care Providers Association he is actively involved in improving standards in the health and social care sector.
Malcolm joined the Regional Partnership Board for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to contribute to the health and social care integration agenda and has worked closely with the Welsh Assembly, the Care Council for Wales and the CSSIW in a stakeholder capacity on the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
He has a lifelong love of music having sung professionally for 10 years and is a member of the Cardiff Polyphonic Choir. He is also a passionate sports fan no matter how obscure.
Hannah Matthews, Registered Manager
Hannah Mathews, Registered Manager
Hannah joins Pineshield as the new Registered Manager and brings over fifteen years experience in health and social care, the majority in a management capacity.
She prides herself on providing exceptional levels of person centred care and believes that supporting and empowering her customers and her team is the best way to achieve this.
Outside the office, Hannah enjoys socialising, watching rugby and going on long adventurous walks with her twin boys and the family dog, Bear.
Sumitha Siva, Finance Manager
Sumitha Siva, Accounts Manager
Sumitha joined Pineshield in 2008. She is a highly professional management accountant (CIMA) who brings a broad range of skills and expertise developed whilst working for blue chip multinationals and smaller organisations in the financial services, manufacturing and retail sectors.
In her role as Accounts Manager, Sumitha has responsibility for managing the company finances and is particularly focused on ensuring a good working relationship with care funding bodies and building strong relationships with our team of support workers.
When not running a tight financial ship at Pineshield, Sumitha enjoys travelling and walking.
Marie Pugh, Field Care Supervisor

Having spent 30 years leading teams in different industries, Marie decided on a total career change. People are her passion and a desire to give something back to her community led Marie to take a role in Supported Living, working with adults with learning disabilities, supporting their independence at home and in the community.
She is a keen photographer and tortoise lover – her tortoise called George is 84 years old, bought by Marie when she was just 16! She’s also a keen gardener who believes in reducing food miles with 2 allotments and 4 chickens.
Marie is a trustee of YogaMobility, a Cardiff-based charity and is involved in fundraising through gigs by the disabled and able bodied band The Funky Love Posse where she boogies the night away.
Rebecca Charles, Field Care Supervisor

Rebecca is one of Pineshield’s three Field Care Supervisors. She joined the company over five years ago bringing with her over eight years of experience in the health and social care sector.
Rebecca is a keen cook and loves baking. Her banoffee pie is an office favourite with staff and visitors alike.

Hannah brings over eight years experience of working with people with additional needs whether minor or life-altering, short term, long term or ongoing and can’t imagine doing anything else.
She loves spending time with her friends and family and has her hands full with two cats and two ferrets to care for.
Jo Western, Care Co-ordinator
Jo has spent 20 years in health and social care, the past five years as a care co-ordinator which is likened to making jigsaw pieces fit without the aid of a picture! Jo is the lynchpin at Pineshield – the person who makes sure our staff are in the right place at the right time.
In her spare time she enjoys socialising with friends and family and has been known to wield her dabber at the local bingo hall. Jo is a sun worshipper and likes nothing more than jetting off to the Canary Islands when it’s time to unwind.
Laura Oliver, Staff Development Co-ordinator

Laura joined Pineshield in 2013 as a support worker. Over the past 4 years she has held a several roles with company and is currently responsible for staff development. Laura’s role is to support and supervise our support workers with any issues that might arise and is also responsible for providing manual handling training to staff.
She has been actively involved in a pilot scheme supporting individuals through re-ablement programs with the aim of reducing the need for ongoing care and improving independence.
Prior to joining Pineshield, Laura worked as an Occupational Therapist supporting hospital discharges with a variety of conditions. When she’s not supporting our dedicated employees Laura loves watching movies with a historical focus or filled with superheroes.
Laura Dalton, Finance & HR Co-ordinator
Finance & HR Co-ordinator
Laura joined Pineshield as an administration assistant through the Jobs Growth Wales scheme. Her hard work and diligence has seen her role expand to that of Finance and HR Co-ordinator, assisting Sumitha and Jo in our busy office.
A religious studies graduate, Laura enjoys reading about many of the world religions embraced by our diverse, multi-cultural customers.
