Meet The Team
We will continue, to dedicate ourselves to create caring services of quality by ensuring that all our Support workers and Office team are trained and supported too the highest level, so all those we support can remain living in their own homes with choice, control and dignity.
Malcolm joined Pineshield (formerly Carewatch) in 2009. As Vice Chairman of Care Forum Wales and ex-Chair of the Cardiff and Vale Domiciliary Care Providers Association he is actively involved in improving standards in the health and social care sector.
Malcolm joined the Regional Partnership Board for Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan to contribute to the health and social care integration agenda and has worked closely with the Welsh Assembly, the Care Council for Wales and the CSSIW in a stakeholder capacity on the implementation of the Social Services and Well-being Act (Wales) 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
He has a lifelong love of music having sung professionally for 10 years and is a member of the Cardiff Polyphonic Choir. He is also a passionate sports fan no matter how obscure.
Sumitha joined Pineshield in 2008. She is a highly professional management accountant (CIMA) who brings a broad range of skills and expertise developed whilst working for blue chip multinationals and smaller organisations in the financial services, manufacturing and retail sectors.
In her role as Accounts Manager, Sumitha has responsibility for managing the company finances and is particularly focused on ensuring a good working relationship with care funding bodies and building strong relationships with our team of support workers.
When not running a tight financial ship at Pineshield, Sumitha enjoys travelling and walking.
Sacha Southwell joined Pineshield in 2015 as a care worker and moved up the ranks to become deputy manager. With her knowledge of working as a carer she is able to understand all the roles from a being a carer all the way to management.
Her role as a deputy manager includes managing the care workers, making sure they deliver the service with the upmost best quality and taking on any complaints from carers and service users.
When Sacha is not working, she enjoys being active and out in the community.
Kayleigh Havens joined Pineshield in 2015 as a care worker and moved up the ranks to become field care supervisor. With the knowledge and experience as a care worker she is able to understand peoples needs and is able to meet them efficiently. Her role as field care supervisor is to work with other health professionals so that the service users receive the highest level of care and support. She is also in charge of communicating with carers about changes relating to the care plans and the service users needs.
When Kayleigh is not working she enjoys spending time with family and socialising with friends and colleagues.
Nicola Williams Joined Pineshield in 2014 as care worker and moved up the ranks to become senior care worker to then finally become a field care supervisor. With her experience and knowledge as a care worker she is able to make strategic improvements to areas where she saw potential when she was working as a carer.
Her role as field care supervisor is to work with other health professionals so that the service users receive the highest level of care and support. She is also in charge of communicating with carers about changes relating to the care plans and the service users needs.
In her free time Nicola likes to remain active and spend time with her family and friends.
Hannah joined Pineshield at the beginning of 2018 bringing a background in co-ordination and facilities management from her previous role. Hannah’s responsibility has seen her take on responsibility for Staff Development & Recruitment Co-ordinator. Her role is to support and supervise our current Support workers with any concerns they may have, she is also responsible for recruiting new staff.
Outside of work Hannah enjoys socialising, taking day trips & planning for her much anticipated wedding next year!
Laura joined Pineshield in 2013 as a support worker. Over the past 4 years she has held a several roles with company and is currently responsible for staff development. Laura’s role is to support and supervise our support workers with any issues that might arise and is also responsible for providing manual handling training to staff.
She has been actively involved in a pilot scheme supporting individuals through re-ablement programs with the aim of reducing the need for ongoing care and improving independence.
Prior to joining Pineshield, Laura worked as an Occupational Therapist supporting hospital discharges with a variety of conditions. When she’s not supporting our dedicated employees Laura loves watching movies with a historical focus or filled with superheroes.
Laura joined Pineshield in 2015 as an administration assistant through the Jobs Growth Wales scheme. Her hard work and diligence has seen her role expand to that of HR & Finance Co-ordinator.
As a religious studies graduate, Laura enjoys reading about many of the world religions embraced by our diverse, multi-cultural customers.
